INDIANAPOLIS — The former president of the Indiana Education Association is heading to prison.
Rhondalyn Cornett served as the association’s president from 2013 to 2018, and it was during that time that Cornett embezzled over $150,000.
Prosecutors said she used the union’s own bank account and debit card for her own personal expenses over the years, which eventually led to her arrest.
Cornett pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
