INDIANAPOLIS — A person has died after a Monday night shooting on the city’s west side.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the intersection of Belmont Avenue and St. Clair Street around 9:40 p.m. on a report of a person shot.
They arrived to find the victim, 23-year-old Dayron Morris, with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A possible second victim had left the scene before officers arrived, IMPD said.
No additional information about the identities of the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shootings was immediately available.
