MISHAWAKA, Ind. — A Mishawaka 7-Eleven clerk was attacked for telling a customer he needed to wear a face mask inside the store.

Mishawaka Police are investigating the beating, which happened Wednesday morning at the 7-Eleven on N. Main Street.

A man entered the store without wearing a mask and attempted to buy a cup of coffee, reports WNDU. When the female clerk told him store policy would not allow him to be served without a mask, the man threw the cup of coffee at the clerk and left. He then returned to the store and was asked to leave. At that point, the man kicked and punched the clerk before leaving the store again.

The suspect is described as black with dreadlocks, around 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing jeans, a dark-colored hooded jacket, and bright blue shoes.
