INDIANAPOLIS — A person shot and killed on the city’s northwest side.

Indianapolis Metro Police say they were called to Winterberry Circle near 56th Street and Georgetown Road a little after 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

“When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” said Officer Michael Hewitt. “Officers called for the assistance of EMS who responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he later died.”

Hewitt said they are not releasing the victim’s name for now and they do not have any information on who a possible suspect could be. Hewitt said they may know more once the coroner does an autopsy.
