INDIANAPOLIS--A fire at the abandoned I-70 Trailer Park on the southeast side of Indianapolis is being called “suspicious” by Wayne Township firefighters.

It started at about 6:30 Friday morning on 3023 West Morris Street, which is near Eagle Creek.

“The first units on the scene found multiple vacant mobile homes or trailers on fire. Since the order of the park being closed, which was several months ago, this is the third fire we’ve had in the park,” says Troy Wymer, Public Information Director for the Wayne Township Fire Department.

Wymer says he and his team have a hard time believing this fire was an accident.

“The previous two fires were ruled to be intentionally set. This fire is suspicious in nature and it’s still under investigation. We are suspicious that this one (may have been intentionally set too), but that’s not confirmed,” says Wymer.

No one was hurt in the fire. The fire was under control in less than an hour.
