INDIANAPOLIS — Police are on the scene of a death investigation on the city’s northwest side.
According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to an apartment complex at 6731 Barnwood Trace around 5:40 a.m. Saturday on reports of shots fired. That’s the address for Covered Bridge Apartments near Georgetown Road and West 71st Street.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a man dead. Police say the man appeared to suffer from gunshot wounds. It is unclear at this time how he died.
Homicide detectives are speaking with potential witnesses to determine what led to the man’s death. No suspect information was immediately available.
