INDIANAPOLIS — A gas station employee was shot and killed on Indy’s north side Thursday night.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called just before 11 p.m. to the Marathon gas station at the intersection of 30th Street and College Avenue. They found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside the station.

Major Harold Turner with IMPD said they are still early in their investigation, and there was no immediate information on the victim or any suspects.

It was the second fatal shooting in Indy on Thursday. One man was killed in the Eagles Watch Subdivision around 4 p.m. on the northwest side. IMPD believes the shooting was targeted.

There have now been 38 homicides in Indy this year.
