UPDATE: The North West Hendricks School Corp. on Friday released a statement saying Nathan Begle and Stacey Begle have been placed on administrative leave from the district because of the Indiana Department of Education seeking to suspend their teaching licenses.

DANVILLE, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Education is looking to suspend three Hendricks County educators over the mishandling of a teacher accused of sexual misconduct.

The state claims that the dean of students, Stacey Begle, her husband and Tri-West athletic director Nathan Begle, as well as the principal Adam Benner, did not report accusations to the proper authorities that a teacher was having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Prosecutors charged Tyler Bruce in January, but the complaint accuses the Begle’s and Benner of being made aware of a “secret relationship of a sexual nature with a female student,” Bruce was having with a student back in May of 2019.

Benner has been charged with failing to report allegations of child abuse.

The Begle’s are still employed by the Northwest Hendricks School Corporation. Bruce is still employed by the district as well, albeit on unpaid administrative leave. Bruce was retained in a unanimous vote by the school board at a hearing last year.

Benner resigned before he was charged.
