PORTAGE, Ind.–Some sort of object hit the windshield of a semi on the Indiana Toll Road Wednesday morning and seriously injured the driver, according to Indiana State Police.
Police say it happened at the 17.4-mile marker on the Toll Road, which is two miles east of Ripley Street. Kahlil A. Blasingame, 23, of Phoenix, Illinois was driving a 2011 Freightliner eastbound in the center lane when the object hit the windshield, shattered the glass, and hit Blasingame.
Blasingame was flown to a hospital in Chicago. Police say the semi he was driving is owned by CDS Transport Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio.
State police do not know what the object was.
