WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. — The health of a person who recently traveled to China is being monitored in Wayne County, according to the Wayne County Health Department.

The department says the individual has not displayed any signs or symptoms of the coronavirus. However, they also say they are following guidance established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in response to the global outbreak of coronavirus.

This person will be monitored daily for the next 14 days for any signs or symptoms of coronavirus.

“The risk of contracting the flu is much greater than any risk or novel coronavirus in our county, but we are taking every step possible to ensure that our community stays healthy,” said Dr. Jetmore.
