COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus man tried to pick his kid up from school on Thursday while drunk, according to Columbus police.
Patrick Swan was in the student pick-up lane at Richards Elementary School when he crashed into another car, said police.
Columbus Police and a school resource officer responded to the crash. When they got there, they said they could smell alcohol on Swan’s breath and that he couldn’t keep balanced.
Swan failed multiple sobriety tests and police say his blood alcohol content was more than four times over the legal limit.
Swan was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
