INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a man has died after a shooting that happened Friday morning near 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a neighborhood in the area around 6:30 a.m. after a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound walked up to a nearby GetGo gas station.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The gas station was closed for a short time while officers investigated the shooting. A crime scene in the 3600 block of Hemlock was also blocked off. That’s just south of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
No suspect information has been released at this time. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
