PAYNETOWN, Ind.--The body of a man who disappeared while boating on Lake Monroe Friday was found Sunday night.
Indiana Conservation Officers found Anup Thota, 26, around 7:30 pm Sunday.
He was in about 15 feet of water near the area where he had been swimming from his boat. A spokesperson with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said Thota was swimming off a pontoon he rented with 3 friends when he disappeared Friday night.
Authorities believe a storm knocked all 3 of them off the boat Friday. Thota’s friends made it out of the water safely.
Investigators spent Friday until dark and all day Saturday and Sunday looking for Thota and eventually found him Sunday night.
