LEBANON, Ind. — A Boone County teenager died Monday after being shot outside a Lebanon muffler shop.
Jamie Dover, 17, of Lebanon shot in a parking lot near the J&J Muffler Shop on W. South Street at around 1:15 p.m. Monday, says The Lebanon Reporter.
Dover was pronounced dead at the scene by the Boone County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s report says he died of a single gunshot wound.
Lebanon Police Chief Tyson Warmoth told The Lebanon Reporter that a 16-year-old was detained and questioned about the shooting.
“Investigators are continuing to actively investigate this tragedy,” a statement from Warmoth’s office read Tuesday. “[They] will present their findings to the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office in coming days.”
The prosecutor will decide what charges, if any, the suspect will face.
