ELKHART, Ind. — Counterfeit cash is causing problems for Elkhart police.
Officers have taken more than 10 reports of “funny money” in the last 30 days, reports WNDU-TV.
Bogus bills have also been reported in Nappanee and Goshen.
Police are asking people in the area to take a good look at their cash make sure it’s real, legal tender.
A quick way to check your money is to hold the bill up to a light and search for color-shifting ink, watermarks, embedded security strips, and microprinting. If any of those security measures is missing, the bill is bogus. Check out more tips on identifying funny money here.
