DETROIT – Another major automaker is recalling vehicles due to air bag issues.
Kia is recalling more than 500,000 cars and minivans in the U.S. because the air bags could fail in a crash.
Included are the 2010 through 2013 Forte, 2011 through 2013 Optima, and Sedona and Optima Hybrid minivans made in 2011 and 2012.
Kia said in a government report that an air bag control computer could short circuit and prevent the air bag from deploying properly.
The automaker is working on a remedy and will send notices to owners June 27.
