CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. — The search continues for a man who went missing Sunday morning in the Tippecanoe River.

Officers say the man had been swimming in the river when he was swept away by the current. Water levels have risen with heavy rain that has fallen recently in north-central Indiana.

Search teams with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources had gone searching for the man on Sunday, but were unable to find him.

This is the second case in June where someone has fallen into a river and gone missing.  On June 14, Brendan Sperry, 6, went missing after he was swept away by the Flat Rock River while playing on a sandbar at Mill Race Park in Columbus.  The boy’s body was found near a bridge in downtown Columbus on June 16.
