WASHINGTON, D.C. — Your Senators in Washington are reiterating to President Trump the importance of bring fallen POWs and those missing in action home from North Korea.
During a summit back in June, President Trump said he came to an agreement with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, to have the remains of U.S soldiers killed during the Korean War returned to the United States.
Both Sen. Todd Young (R) and Sen. Joe Donnelly (D) say: “As a nation, we must help these families bring their loved ones home, and we must honor our commitment to never leave our fallen behind.”
The two Senators add that the U.S can’t account for over 7,000 soldiers who were either killed or went missing in action during the Korean War. They say 176 of those are Hoosiers.

Dear Mr. President,
We are writing to you following your historic meeting with Kim Jong Un. We share your desire for a complete, verifiable, and irreversible dismantlement of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, and we stand ready to work with your administration to achieve this objective.
We are also pleased to see that the Joint Statement issued at the conclusion of the Singapore summit included a renewal of the commitment to recover and repatriate the remains of our nation’s prisoners of war and those servicemembers who are missing in action (POW/MIA). As you know, our nation cannot account for 7,697 Americans from the Korean War—and that includes 176 Hoosiers. As a nation, we must help these families bring their loved ones home, and we must honor our commitment to never leave our fallen behind.
We applaud your commitment to restart the POW/MIA recovery effort and to finally provide closure for the families that have waited for so long. We are eager to do all we can to help.
