HAMMOND, Ind. — He was cleared four months ago of a rape charge now, Lake County sheriff’s deputy Nicholas Medrano has been suspended for posting an unauthorized video on Instagram.
The video showed Medrano transporting an inmate while they bobbed their heads to music, says The Northwest Indiana Times.
Medrano has been suspended for five days for the video.
County Police Chief William Paterson said, “We don’t want any unauthorized dissemination of information, whether it is a picture of a video, without clearing it through the proper channels.”
The sheriff’s department is also looking into a stalking complaint from a woman who says she was in a relationship with Medrano, however, officials couldn’t comment further.
