ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — The search is over for an Elkhart man who went missing Sunday while boating on a lake at Potato Creek State Park.
The man’s body was found Monday in Worster Lake, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has confirmed.
The Elkhart man was paddle boating with a friend Sunday afternoon when a storm knocked him into the water, says the South Bend Tribune.
Search teams with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and St. Joseph County Police Department look for the man using sonar equipment and a remote-operated vehicle until the sun went down on Sunday evening. Eight divers also assisted in the search.
The search resumed early Monday morning.
Indiana DNR says the man was given a life jacket by the state park, but he wasn’t wearing it when he went into the water.
The man’s name has not been released.
