MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Madison County are searching for a convicted sex offender who is accused of assaulting and threatening a woman Monday.
Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department are looking for Christopher M. Moto, 30.
The deputies responded to a 911 call at 9 a.m. Monday, on a report of sexual assault. A female victim said Moto assaulted her and threatened her life before running away. The woman told police he had guns with him. Police found a rifle that could have been in Moto’s possession.
Moto was convicted in 2011 of sexual misconduct with a minor. He is currently wanted on two warrants, failure to return to lawful detention and failure to register as a sex or violent offender.
Deputies are searching in the area of County Road 300 N. and County Road 300 E.
