INDIANAPOLIS — IPS parents and taxpayers will be able to voice their concerns or support Tuesday night at the school board vote for the district’s budget.

IPS is trying to keep good teachers — but needs to pay for their salaries and raises. The board will vote on an operating referendum to pay for that.

The referendum would also go toward school upgrades and improved safety measures. The district faces a multi-million dollar budget gap.

Tuesday’s public meeting will be held at the IPS Education Center on 120 E. Washington Street at 6 p.m.

A final proposal that could include a tax increase will be on the November ballot.
