COLUMBUS, Ind. – A former Bartholomew County Sheriff’s reserve deputy and campground employee is facing sex charges after officers received a complaint that he had inappropriate contact with a child.
Larry Lee Scott, 72, of Hope was arrested at CERAland Park on charges including child molestation, child exploitation, vicarious sexual gratification, child solicitation, sexual battery and possession of paraphernalia.
Investigators say Scott had been working as a reserve deputy for more than 40 years. He also worked at CERAland, which is a public, non-profit park and campground southeast of Columbus.
According to the Columbus Republic, Scott is no longer a reserve deputy with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and the case is being investigated by Indiana State Police.
Detectives have not given any additional details on their investigation.
