Some incredible pieces of Indianapolis Public Schools history has been discovered…Yearbooks, newsletters, staff bios, newspaper clippings, pictures and more!  Some dating back to 1853!  Thanks to a $1.8 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.,and through gifts to The Indpls. Public Library Foundation, the IPS collection has been digitized for researchers, educators and alumni to access.  Easterseals Crossroads provided the expertise to take the materials and transform them into digital format.  Most of the scanning was done by those with disabilities.  Nearly 2,500 archived items can be accessed at the Indianapolis Public Library’s Digital Indy Collection found at www.digitalindy.org.
