WESTFIELD, Ind. — Today was the first day of training camp the Indianapolis Colts had a live period as they prepare for their preseason game against the Seahawks.

Head Coach Frank Reich says today was the first day that Colts had their full starting O-Line back at practice. Veteran tackle Anthony Castonzo and and rookie tackle Austin Howard were two of the projected starters up front for the Colts that started camp on the PUP list.

“I thought the guys did a good job today, it was productive,” Reich said after practice. “I really feel like I can stand here and say we are getting better everyday. If that’s was we keep doing and practice with the tempo that we are now, good things are going to happen.”

When asked if Reich is starting to think about who he might keep or cut as training camp rolls on he would not name names but said there are several players that have surprised him.

Unfortunately for the Colts, they will be without a four-year veteran on the O-Line from here on out. Guard Jack Mewhort announced his retirement from the NFL today.

“Jack Mewhort gave this organization everything he had in his four seasons with the team,” said Colts General Manager Chris Ballard. “We’re appreciative of Jack’s dedication to the Colts, and we wish him the best moving forward.”

Mewhort was drafted by the Colts in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He spent most of last season in injured reserve.
