Indiana Representative Jim Lucas is on a mission to legalize medical marijuana in the state in the Hoosier state.
Fresh off his trip to the state of Colorado – where both recreational and medical marijuana are legal – Rep. Lucas spoke with WIBC hosts Hammer and Nigel about what it will take to make medical cannabis lawful in Indiana.
Rep. Lucas:
“I got educated once the state had the CBD fiasco, and the more I learned, the more I understood that this was the right thing to do for Indiana.
…I believe it’s going to become legal in the next session of the Indiana House of Representatives, and I’m going to be working very hard to get the facts out there. Once you understand the facts and work through the stigma and ignorance, you can’t help but come to the conclusion that it makes sense.
…We have a massive opioid crisis in the state of Indiana. And we have a natural plant that mankind has been using for years. If we can implement this, it is going to save thousands of lives. I want to see someone go in front of a microphone and try to argue against the logic in moving forward with this.”
