New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio thinks Fox News is a threat to American democracy.
Appearing on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” with Brian Stelter, de Blasio said that CNN and the major networks do not “harbor a daily, hourly political agenda,” but Fox News and the NY Post, both owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, “created a dynamic… where race was infused into the dialogue in a very negative way.”
Mayor de Blasio went on to claim that there would be no Donald Trump without News Corp, and that Fox News has fueled racism.
WIBC host Tony Katz responded to de Blasio’s comments Monday:
“Wow, it’s Fox News that has made America racial? It’s not Barack Obama, it’s not ‘if I had a son he would look like Trevon, it’s not CNN doing ‘Hand Up.’ No, no, it’s Fox.
…One outlet that leans politically right and 9,000 outlets that lean politically left, but Fox News is the one he has the problem with.”
