LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A Lafayette man is going to federal prison for child porn.

In a hearing at U.S. District Court in Hammond, Judge James Moody sentenced 62-year-old David Adams to over six years in prison, followed by five years of supervised released one his is out of prison.

Court documents say federal investigators found over 80 videos and images on his computer, which he intended to distribute via a file sharing network on the Internet. They all depicted children under the age of 12.

When the FBI came to arrest Adams earlier this year he was not home, but he arrived while investigators were there and then tried to drive away nearly hitting several agents in the process.

He eventually returned and was arrested.
