FORT WAYNE, Ind.–A Fort Wayne company that’s been making potato chips and other snack foods for more than 80 years is shutting down.
Seyfert’s Snack Foods told its workers that it’s closing shop because the company is no longer profitable.
ABC 21 in Fort Wayne says the company tried to sell to another buyer but couldn’t find one.
All workers will be laid off but get a week’s worth of pay for every year they’ve worked with the company.
Seyfert’s had been making chips, pretzels and cheese puffs in Fort Wayne since 1934.
