INDIANAPOLIS–$120 million will be used to repair roads, bridges, and sidewalks in Indianapolis.

That is because the Indianapolis City-County Council unanimously approved the spending of that money Monday night.

Under the plan, the city will issue $30 million in debt this year, $40 million in debt next year, and $50 million in 2020.

The debt is expected to be paid off by future revenue the city expects to get from county option vehicle taxes and the increased gas tax.

Councilors say some of these projects will last at least 50 years, which will be far beyond the $120 million loan.
