LAWRENCE, Ind. — Two people are dead after an early-morning motorcycle crash in Lawrence.
The Hancock Co. Sheriff’s Department said Jeremy Conger, 24, turned at the intersection of 42nd Street and Caroll Road without using his turn signal and then sped away.
A deputy spotted Conger as he made the turn and tried to catch up with the bike for a traffic stop. When he turned on his lights, Conger ignored them and kept going.
Conger lost control in the roundabout at 46th Street and German Church Road and crashed.
The crashed killed Conger’s passenger, 27-year-old Jamie Short.
Conger was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
