INDIANAPOLIS–The Indianapolis Colts lost to the Houston Texans in overtime Sunday 37-34.

With the game tied at 34 in overtime and facing a 4th and 4 from their own 43 yard line, Colts Head Coach Frank Reich opted to go for it. Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck threw a pass that was incomplete to Chester Rogers.

The Texans took over on downs, marched into field goal range, and won the game with a 37-yard field goal by Ka’imi Fairbairn.

“We were talking about a couple of different scenarios and wanted to make sure we had the one we wanted,” Reich said. “I knew once we called timeout and tried to draw them offsides, it normally doesn’t work, but I figured it was worth a try. We’re not playing to tie. We’re going for that 10 times out of 10. That’s just the way it’s gotta roll.”

Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck agreed.

“We’re not going to play for a tie. I think everybody in that locker room loves that. I love that,” Luck said.

He also acknowledged that the team has to execute.

“I’ve got to play better. I’ve got to throw a better ball. We all know where we have to improve. But that attitude? We can get behind that,” Luck said.

The Colts drop to 1-3, but they don’t have a lot of time to think about what just happened. That’s because they have another game this Thursday night in Foxboro, Massachusetts against the New England Patriots (2-2).

That Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins Sunday 38-7.

Kickoff is 8:20 pm EST.
