Why can’t artists, musicians, actors, and entertainers just shut up about politics and perform? It’s not that they don’t have a right to voice their opinion, it’s just that their opinions are generally stupid and severely dampen our enthusiasm for the “art” they create.

The latest example of an entertainer giving in to the insatiable need to demonstrate her political ignorance comes from Taylor Swift.

In an Instagram message posted on Sunday, Swift took the annoying step of endorsing Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and letting her fans know exactly where she stands:

“In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” she wrote. “I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country.”

Very good, Taylor. Now go eat something, dear.

The Chicks on the Right talk Taylor’s ‘brave’ (cough, cough) step into the political waters in today’s Speedround.

Plus, a debate over how much to pay kids when they lose teeth, and a man who bedded 6,000 women dies doing what he loved.
