Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in comments delivered Tuesday at the State Department that the migrant caravan headed for the United States would be stopped.

The caravan, which includes thousands of women and children, has swelled to some 7,000 individuals, and is currently making its way through Mexico to the United States.

President Donald Trump has threatened to cut off foreign aid to Mexico if it fails to address the issue before it reaches America’s border. “President Trump will not stand for this to happen to the United States,” Pompeo said.

WIBC host Tony Katz offered comments on his program, Wednesday morning:

“The numbers from some media outlets is as much as 14,000. If you have 14,000 people, why aren’t you heading to the capital of Honduras and taking over? I don’t want a bad life for these people; I want them to be happy and healthy. I want their kids and their families to be safe and free of this violence that is Honduras. What is the murder rate? 47 out of every 100,000 people? It’s beyond understanding. But what they are doing and being allowed to do by Mexico and others… If you don’t call it invasion, then what do you call it?”
