FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A man told investigators he was possessed by demons and Hitler when he attacked his mother on Wednesday morning.
Jason Steiss of Fort Wayne was arrested on a charge of battery said after police found Joy Steiss unconscious and unresponsive at a home on Stanford Avenue, according to WANE-TV.
Joy Steiss was taken to the hospital where she died. Police said she had blunt force trauma and signs of strangulation.
Jason Steiss told police he murdered his mother and needed to be put down, according to a probable cause affidavit.
He then said he was possessed by demons and Hitler.
Police said Steiss had blood on his hands, face, arms, and clothes, and that he admitted he bit, hit, punched, and choked his mother.
Steiss told police he needed to go to prison for what he did.
Steiss’s court date is set for Oct. 30.
