A Texas woman let loose with the explosions to celebrate the end of her 14-year marriage.
Kimberly Santleben-Stiteler, 43, chose to commemorate her divorce with a party that culminated in a massive explosion of her wedding dress that was felt for miles.
Rather than simply throwing the dress into a fire, Kimberly’s dad and brother-in-law came up with the idea of burning the dress with exploding targets.
“I had a lot of advice and suggestions from friends and family, like donating it for premature babies and baptism gowns. However, to me, the dress represented a lie. I wanted to have a divorce party to burn the dress,” Santleben-Stiteler said.
The dress was rigged with 20 pounds of Tannerite, an explosive component used for firearms training.
Daisy:
“That’s kind of fun! I love this!”
Mock:
“Yeah, that’s awesome. Good for her.”
Daisy:
“You know this brings up a good point. When you get to be a middle-aged person and are going through menopause, I think there should be a gift registry and a shower for that just like when you’re pregnant or getting married.
I need new dishes and a lot of other new stuff. We need to start the trend.”
Mock:
“A menopause shower! I love it! We need to do it.”
Daisy:
“Yeah, a celebratory ‘Hey! All my lady parts have died!’”
