ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — Police in Zionsville are on the hunt for a man they say escaped them early Saturday.
It happened around 4 a.m. in the area of Club and Ford roads after police attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
Attempting to evade officers, 24-year-old Michael Mathis eventually struck a tree with his car and became stuck. He later fled the scene into a wooded area.
Officers later set up a perimeter and used K9 units and drones in an attempt to locate Mathis, before eventually turning the search over to criminal investigations.
Officials are urging people in the area to keep their doors locked and to report any suspicious activity.
