VALPARAISO, Ind. — A former Porter County youth pastor who preyed on two young members of his flock is headed to prison.
Timothy Lawrence, 32, will spend four years in prison and four years on probation for sexually abusing two underage girls from his church.
Police say the abuse happened in 2013 and 2014, while Lawrence was serving as youth pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in South Haven.
Lawrence pleaded guilty to two felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. He is eligible to have his sentence reduced by one day for each day of good behavior, according to The Times of Northwest Indiana.
After his release from prison, Lawrence must complete a sex offender treatment program and register as a sex offender following his release from prison.
