Purdue President and former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels joined WIBC’s Tony Katz Friday to discuss a new high-tech company coming to West Lafayette with intentions to invest millions of dollars and add nearly 400 jobs in the area.

Daniels:

“There is a real chance for the area around Purdue to become the center for what is known as ‘precision agriculture’ – the use of high-tech innovations like this company has pioneered.

…This company out of Brazil mounts equipment on top of farm equipment that helps it become more productive in the field in real time.”

Daniels also discussed the recent drama involving Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm:

“We were convinced a couple years ago that we found the best coach available, so it’s not surprising that people are coming after him. But we’re obviously thrilled that’s he’s staying. He’s not only building a great and successful program, he’s a high character individual and he fits Purdue and Indiana. We’re just so glad he’s staying. I know it was a really hard decision for him.”
