Vice President Mike Pence has been the recipient of a tremendous beatdown on social media this week. Seriously, it’s been brutal.
The former Indiana Governor joined President Trump and Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer for a photo op in the Oval Office this week that quickly turned into a heated argument about funding for the President’s border wall and the looming possibility of a government shutdown.
For 17 minutes, Trump, Pelosi and Schumer went at it, making sharp remarks and talking over one another.
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence was… Well, he was breathing at least, and at one point we was alleged to have blinked his eyes.
Beyond that, however, Pence sat perfectly still and didn’t move a muscle – similar to a possum playing dead, or a child who has accidentally walked in on mommy and daddy while they’re engaged in naked ‘wrestling match.’
You could practically hear the inner dialogue in the VP’s head: “If I just sit here motionless and try very hard, maybe I can make myself disappear… Maybe if I pray really REALLY hard I can transport myself to another another room… Scotty! Beam me the hell out of here! Wait… What if I pretend I have stomach flu and excuse myself? Damn it! Mommy! Daddy! Stop fighting!!!”
