INDIANAPOLIS--One man tried to rob a convenience store on the southeast side of Indy Wednesday morning, even going up in the ceiling and trying to find a way out.

He found his way into police handcuffs instead.

Investigators say the man tried to rob Express Pantry around 1:30 near the intersection of South State Avenue and East Minnesota Street with a knife.

The clerk got away and called police, but it took officers several hours to get him to come out of the ceiling.

Police say this man has tried to rob that convenience store more than once in the past couple of months.
