INDIANAPOLIS — The price of a first-class stamp is going up…again.

The US Postal Service will raise the price of a first-class “Forever” stamp from 50 cents to 55 cents on January 27.

It will also be more expensive to send mail or packages via Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express, according to a pricing structure distributed by USPS.

The Postal Service said in October that the new rates will “keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the agency with needed revenue.”

USPS has seen years of financial losses as it struggles with an unrelenting drop in mail volume and high health care and pension costs.
