CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.–You won’t be able to see dash cam or body cam footage of what happened when Glenn Rightsell was shot and killed by a state trooper Friday night. WLFI TV reports the trooper who shot Rightsell, did not have a body cam.

In fact, no state troopers have body cams, as of now, and only two Indiana State Police cars have dash cams.

The trooper has not been ID’d to the public.

Rightsell, 56, of Linden, was shot Friday night about 6:30, while he was working on his daughter’s SUV, which had been sitting on the side of US 231 near Crawfordsville. The trooper who shot him said he grabbed his gun.

Some of Rightsell’s friends and family said they do not believe that version of the story and that Rightsell had no reason to go for his gun.

The Montgomery County prosecutor will get the evidence once the investigation is over.
