JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – The Clark County man charged in the death of a Jeffersonville convenience store owner will stand trial this spring.

Praful Patel, 49, was shot and killed Oct. 11 during an armed robbery at the Stop N Go convenience store he owned with his wife.

Jeffersonville Police used surveillance video to track the movements of the suspect, 34-year-old Antonio McRae, and identify the weapon used in the fatal shooting.

McRae was arrested Sunday and charged with murder and armed robbery. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that a not guilty plea was entered Thursday on McRae’s behalf.

A trial is set for May 21.
