CLINTON, Ind. — A Vermillion County man was caught living a lie, police said.
Police in Clinton questioned a man about a battery at a restaurant. The man gave police a name but, when it didn’t check out, he admitted his real name was Robert Brodbeck.
Police then learned Brodbeck was wanted for deserting the Army in 2000. They believe he’s been living under a fake name the past 18 years.
Brodbeck had been released from the Vermillion County Jail, according to online records. He had been awaiting extradition by the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
