“The Indianapolis City County Council hates you,” WIBC host Tony Katz said Tuesday morning. “It’s not just you; it’s all of us. It’s anybody who lives in Indianapolis. It’s anyone who comes down to Indianapolis. It’s anyone who wants to enjoy this city.”

Katz has a point. Here’s a breakdown of a few of the things the City County Empire – whoops, typo – City County Council has voted for recently:

  • Extend parking meter hours in downtown Indianapolis
  • Lower the speed limit downtown in the mile square to 25mph
  • Prohibit motorists from turning ‘right on red’

“I’m willing to give [the council] an opportunity to prove themselves,” said Katz. “But we can’t lose sight of the fact that the objective of all of this is to change the way people travel to and in downtown Indianapolis.”
