INDIANAPOLIS–A crash on the north side of Indianapolis involving an INDOT salt truck and a car has killed a man.

The crash happened around 2 Thursday morning on Michigan Road just south of 96th street.

Indiana State Police say the salt truck was stopped at a red light along Michigan Road when the car rear-ended the truck right before it was about to make a left turn onto westbound I-465.

The car spun before coming to a stop.

Investigators checked the car and discovered that the man driving the car had died.

The driver of the INDOT truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
