House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer claim they want to secure the southern border. They’re lying, and no one’s confronting them with the obvious proof – not even President Trump.

It’s not that I’m particularly bothered by Pelosi and Schumer’s attempts to mislead the American people. They’re Democrats; it’s inherent in their DNA. What troubles me is the lack of effort and critical thinking of late by reporters, conservative commentators, and Republican lawmakers. Exposing the truth is as simple as asking the House Speaker and Senate Minority Leader two very direct and simple questions – yet no one is asking them. Why?

The debate on immigration enforcement has intensified in recent weeks, but the pattern and rhetoric remain the same:

Republican: “There are over 20 million illegal immigrants living in the United States.”

Democrat: “The number’s declined since 2006, Obama deported more than Trump.”

Republican: “We need a wall on the Southern Border.”

Democrat: “Walls are old-fashioned, inefficient, and immoral.”

Republican: “Crossing the border illegally is a Federal crime.”

Democrat: “It’s just a misdemeanor.”

Republican: “Innocent Americans have been assaulted, raped or killed by illegal aliens!”

Democrat: “Americans commit more crimes on average than undocumented persons.”

Republican: “The crime wouldn’t occur if they weren’t here in the first place.”

Democrat: “The vast majority are good people, looking for a better life for their kids.”

Republican: “Illegal immigration lowers wages for American workers.”

Democrat: “They’re doing the jobs that Americans won’t. You wanna pick produce?”

Republican: “You’re a bleeding heart imbecile with the brain of a turnip.”

Democrat: “You’re a racist!”

Sound familiar?

Several of the aforementioned liberal talking points were spoken verbatim by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in the months leading up to the government shutdown.

In response to President Trump’s Oval Office Address Tuesday night, Rep. Pelosi stated that “we all agree we need to secure our borders,” later adding that “we can fund more innovation to detect unauthorized crossings.”

Sen. Schumer also affirmed that Democrats are committed to border security.

“Make no mistake,” said Schumer. “Democrats and the President both want stronger border security. However, we sharply disagree with the President about the most effective way to do it.”

Congresswoman Pelosi and Senator Schumer have no interest whatsoever in securing the southern border, and the proof is in their very own counter arguments to conservative talking points on immigration – yet not a single reporter, conservative commentator, or Republican lawmaker has bothered to expose their blatant lies.

GoFundMe campaigns are all the rage these days. I’m considering starting one of my own. I’d like to raise $100,000 and offer it to the first White House reporter who confronts Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer with the following questions:

1. “Do you want to secure the southern border and reduce illegal immigration?”

2. “Why?”

These are obvious questions that no one has bothered to ask. I hope someone eventually does; I love watching liberals squirm as they realize they’ve painted themselves into a corner via the deception of their own words.
