Remember how President Trump said Mexico was going to pay for a wall along the southern border? Yes? Oh, good.

Hey, remember how he said “Mexico will pay for the wall” approximately 3,000 times during his 2016 campaign? Yes? Delightful.

Ooh! Remember how each time he said “Mexico will pay for the wall” he VERY specifically said they would pay for it through an “incredible trade deal” to replace NAFTA? No? Well… Uh… That’s what he meant, okay?

President Trump held an impromptu ‘chopper presser’ from the White House lawn Thursday, prior to embarking on a trip to the southern border.

The President addressed whether he will declare a national emergency to ensure the wall on America’s southern border gets built, and clarified the facts surrounding his meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“I very calmly said, ‘If you’re not going to give us strong borders, bye-bye.’ And I left. I didn’t rant. I didn’t rave, like you reported,” Trump told reporters.
