NEW CASTLE, Ind. — A New Castle man is being accused of beating two boys, after the younger boy’s injuries included a fractured skull.

Jarred Watt was arrested Tuesday, a week after being charged with two counts of battery resulting in injury to a person under the age of 14, said the Muncie Star Press.

Henry County sheriff’s deputies said the beatings happened in November 2017. They said the four-year-old and two-year-old were the children of a woman Watt was dating at the time.

Investigators said both of the boys has multiple facial and head bruises. The younger boy had bruises on his chest and back, along with a gash on the back of his head.

The mother said their injuries happen while the boys were with Watt at his home. She took them to the Henry County Hospital, but they were later transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

The boys mother said she was told the boys had fallen out of their beds, but a Riley Hospital physician told police their injuries were not caused by a fall.

Investigators said they saw text messages where Watt admitted to picking the young boy up by his neck.

When police searched Watt’s home they found blood-stained bedding and clothes, said the Star Press.

Watt’s is being held in the Henry County jail.
